Playing in the Highway!

Ever lose something of great value to you? Maybe it doesn't mean much to someone else, but to you it is priceless. While on our way to meet some friends of ours for lunch in Houston, the traffic on I-10 came to a standstill just 3 miles before our exit.

All four lanes of traffic on our side of the road had stopped for seemingly no reason. With Pappasitos, our destination, just ahead you can imagine the frustration. Since nothing was moving and we could not determine the reason for the sudden shutdown of traffic, I got out of the truck, just as several others had done.

I walked a few hundred feet to try to determine what was the holdup, and even questioned several other motorists to find out what had happened. Without gleaning the information I searched for, I retreated to the truck to let the family know what I had found out.

With traffic yet at a standstill, I decided to proceed to the front of the line on the other breakdown lane. I guess I figured it might be a better vantage point. Nearing the front of the line and anxious to find out the reason for this undesired delay, I looked up in time to see someone waving the traffic on, as the lanes were apparently cleared. Quickly checking back in with the family by cell phone, I let them know again, I hadn't been able to determine the cause.

Now I had to make the 200 yard dash back to my vehicle before all the cars in my lane had moved. I could just imagine all of I-10 waiting on me to get back in my vehicle. Having successfully made the journey back so as to not hold up any traffic, I breathed a sigh of relief and put the truck in drive.

I reached for my phone to call our friends, The Gallaughers to let them know we were still on our way. But my phone was not there. It wasn't in my pocket, it wasn't in the holster, it wasn't in the seat, or on the console. It was no where to be found,

The only logical conclusion I could come up with is that while I was making the 200 yard dash back to the car, I dropped it on the road. Ok guys, I know you are with me on this one!

I exited the freeway and made a U-turn to go back to where we had stopped. Pappasitos or no Pappasitos, I had to have my phone. So we prayed, and I got to the spot where we had been so rudely interrupted just moments before. I pulled over into the breakdown lane on the left side of the road and guess what??? Sitting in the middle of the breakdown lane on I-10 in Houston with the traffic speeding by at 75 miles an hour, was my cell phone!!

Thank GOD!!

Just another reminder- He cares about the little things!!

Thanks to all the wonderful people that helped me load/unload my equipment at these churces. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you!

What a great presence of the Lord was felt in all of these services/concerts. It was a great pleasure of ours to sing with The Bethels, from Nederland, TX at the Friday night concert. They are great singers and have their music for sale on their website, www.thebethels.com.

Tiffany and Lyndsey enjoyed a great time with Bro. and Sis,. Myer in Port Arthur, as usual. We were also glad to be able to reconnect with our friends, Mitch and Tammy Gallaugher in Houston on Friday.

We finally made it home at around 2:00 this morning, We are ready for another great week!
